Roles and Responsibilities
Store Performance Management
- Manage the day-to-day store operations to ensure a seamless and smooth customer experience.
- Develop, improve and optimise retail processes to improve productivity, store operations and implement strategies to meet sales goals.
- Working closely with the store manager and store staff to provide direction and support regarding store operations.
- Maintain outstanding store conditions and work closely with the Visual Merchandising team to optimize displays in-store.
Marketing & CRM Management
- Planning and implementing campaigns and promotions to attract customers and increase sales.
- Analyze customer purchasing behavior to increase store visit frequency and purchase amount, thereby increasing sales.
- Develop and improve customers’ satisfaction by coaching and guiding the team to live out to the company’s mission and vision to give our customers’ a wholesome shopping experience in our store.
Business Development
- Overall responsible for the planning and drafting of new businesses such as advertising and real estate leasing businesses.
- To collaborate with our Japanese business suppliers and respective Japan prefectures on sales, advertising and promotional activities on special pop ups of Japanese brand products feature in our store.
- Negotiations with government agencies on company advertising activities. (e.g. Japanese Embassy JCC/ JNTO/ STB etc.)
Pop-up Event Management
- Overseeing the negotiations and completion of contracts with suppliers.
- Development of product import / export process from Japan and schedule management.
- Responsible for fulfilment of orders and logistic duties, budgeting and preparing quotation.
Staff Training and Development
- Develop staff development programs and support skills development through on-the-job training and seminars.
- Increase staff motivation and strengthen teamwork.
- Evaluate and provide feedback to staff to encourage growth.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in any disciplines.
- More than 5 years of retail management experience working at a Japanese apparel company or commercial facility.
- Business-level Japanese language skill (equivalent to Level N1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test) is required to communicate with Japanese suppliers.
- Deep knowledge and insight into the Japanese apparel industry and retail market.
- Experience in two or more of the following roles in the apparel industry: store manager, marketing, leasing, or business development.
- Experience in in-store customer service, VMD, and sales management (apparel industry).
- Experience in planning and developing in-store promotions and using CRM for marketing.
- Experience in negotiating with Japanese companies regarding store openings, purchasing transactions, and advertising activities.
- Experience in leasing commercial facilities and planning department store events.
- Experience as a human resources manager.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving skills.
