Capitol Optical at Raffles City is my go-to. The service provided by Karsten and Siling has been exceptional ever since my husband and I first visited 3 years ago.
Our first experience was in 2021 when my husband decided to try contact lenses for the first time. They were very patient and helpful, allowing him to try numerous times.

While waiting to pay for the spectacles and lenses on the evening of December 8th, I tried on two pairs of sunglasses. A Chinese male staff member stood beside me and told me to pass him the sunglasses, which he immediately cleaned in front of me.
However, he did not ask another customer, who was a foreigner, to do the same. Instead, he bowed twice to him, smiling, before he left the shop. This is not professional. If I had been served by him that day, I would have voided all payments and not bought anything.

I am a loyal customer for more than a decade. Their staff, Jennifer, Shi Ling, and Karsten, provide professional services at all times, and all three staff members treat customers very friendly to make them feel welcomed. This is the reason I keep going back for my optical needs.
However, from my last couple of visits, I understand Jennifer was transferred to help out at another outlet, leaving just two staff members in Raffles City. Today, I saw how Shi Ling and Karsten were servicing customers non-stop. As such, I had to wait for quite a while for them to attend to me.
Personally, I think two staff members for an optical shop are certainly understaffed and stretched to the max without rest, and they even had their lunch delayed. I hope additional staff will be provided very soon to ease their workload.

We visited this shop on 5th October 2024. An Indian male staff member served; I tried on a pair of sunglasses. After I put down the sunglasses, he quickly wiped them and rolled his eyes in disgust.
I highly recommend that the shop owner lock all products in lockers and ask customers to pay first before trying them on!

A truly wonderful specs shop. I've been patronising them for over 10 years. I always get my Silhouette specs here — they do it well, and the prices are super reasonable! All the staff are very helpful and nice. Steve helped me repair my specs today. Thank you, Steve.
