Toast Box at Raffles City represents the contemporary revival of Singapore's beloved Nanyang coffee culture, bringing the nostalgic flavors of 1960s and 1970s breakfast traditions to modern shoppers. Established in 2005, this popular Singaporean coffee chain has grown to over 80 outlets nationwide, with its Raffles City location serving as a convenient spot for both locals and tourists to experience authentic kaya toast culture. Located in the bustling heart of Singapore's shopping district, Toast Box recreates the social atmosphere where people gather to enjoy simple yet satisfying breakfast combinations of kaya toast, soft-boiled eggs, and traditional kopi.
The restaurant specializes in their signature kaya toast made with fluffy white bread that's lightly toasted and generously filled with rich, creamy kaya spread - a coconut egg jam delicately flavored with pandan. This iconic dish is served alongside perfectly prepared soft-boiled eggs and aromatic Nanyang coffee, creating the quintessential Singaporean breakfast experience. Toast Box is renowned for their thicker, fluffier toast compared to traditional kopitiam versions, using premium ingredients to create a more substantial and satisfying meal. The menu extends beyond the classic combination to include various toast options and beverage selections that cater to contemporary tastes while maintaining authentic flavors.
Toast Box at Raffles City operates daily from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM at 252 North Bridge Road, #B1-44A. The restaurant provides a comfortable, modern setting that pays homage to traditional kopitiam culture while offering air-conditioned comfort and contemporary service standards. Easily accessible within Raffles City's extensive shopping complex, the outlet serves both quick breakfast options for busy commuters and leisurely dining experiences for those wanting to savor Singapore's coffee culture. The location's proximity to major attractions and business districts makes it an ideal spot for experiencing this integral part of Singaporean culinary heritage.
I love the tea and coffee at Toast Box. They make tea just the way I like it—perfectly balanced and incredibly satisfying. However, I've consistently noticed an issue at almost every branch I've visited: the staff often seem overwhelmed and come across as rude. Sadly, this branch was no exception. The employees appeared swamped with work, and their responses to any queries were curt and unhelpful. At one point, the staff were so rude that they didn't even have time to tell a child where to get a tissue. I sincerely hope they can improve their customer service to match the quality of their drinks.

Very crowded outlet. Came to try the curry chicken rice set. Unfortunately, the quality wasn't as great compared to other outlets. In fact, there were only 3 pieces of chicken wings compared to 5 at other outlets, like the one at TTSH. The curry was also not as fragrant at this outlet. Hence, there was inconsistency across different outlets, and you need to try them to know which one offers better quality curry chicken. The service crew was also not as friendly at this outlet.

I bought curry and rice to eat at home. It used to be good, but I was surprised to find it tasteless now. It didn't have any curry taste at all. It was pretty disappointing, as they used to have really good curry. Even the coffee didn't taste like coffee. I will just stick to the Ock curry set, which tastes way better.

The order was taken with an attitude that seemed to say, "Hurry and keep it short." The person taking the order at the counter seemed to be rushing customers. Perhaps reinforcement training would be beneficial.
Long queue despite four people working. Customers are walking away. Not very good for business. Business owner, please check your CCTV for a clearer picture. Something is off.
I won't be a returning customer for sure. Service must improve. Staff shouldn't undermine the product and business.

Wow. $13.80 for a set. The laksa portion was so small and tasted watery. Without the set, it's $12. Really overpriced for the portion and taste. If I had a choice, never again. If I had no choice, never again either.

Typical Toast Box quality and service—nothing great, nothing bad. The only issue was the wobbly tables. I even saw a few people spill their tea or coffee when a table shook from its uneven legs. A stable table is such a basic dining requirement, and they couldn’t even get that right.

On my first trip to Singapore, I tried the Kaya toast at the Toast Box for the first time. OMG, I immediately fell in love with it. For days, my breakfast was the same: the #1 set (Kaya toast, coffee, and eggs) 😅 If you are visiting Singapore for the first time, I highly recommend the Kaya toast and iced coffee. 😊

This kopitiam offers kaya toast with either coffee or teh. While the teh is actually nicer than the coffee, for a strong caffeine hit, the coffee wins out. They also have pretty tasty snacks, making it ideal for a quick pitstop when you're in a rush.

Our family never misses breakfast and always goes for a heavy one to kick-start the day. Toast Box is the go-to place as usual. The chicken, though fried on the spot, was tasteless, perhaps not well marinated. Otherwise, the portions are generally generous. Set items come with a drink and a side, be it a curry puff, coffee cake, or a small bun. The staff work really hard to cope with the long queue. Hats off to them! Keep up the good work.

Came here for breakfast before running off to work. I had my usual Kopi C Kosong and Wholemeal Toast with Crunchy Peanut Butter. Both were yummy. The coffee had the right aroma, though slightly less milk would have been better. The toast was freshly done and had the right amount of crunch on the outside and super soft inside. The peanut butter was out of this world 😝. Recommended for breakfast meals.
I came here again for breakfast after my Covid jab at Raffles Medical. I love coming to Toastbox whenever I'm in the area because this is the best Toastbox outlet in Singapore (based on my limited experience). The coffee and toast were really well done. The toast had the right crisp and colour, and the peanut butter was also flavourful and crunchy. The coffee is super aromatic here, unlike at some other outlets. In contrast, the Toastbox outlets at Centrepoint and City Square Mall are not up to standard, often showing poor preparation of coffee and toast.

Kaya Toast is really delicious, but the portion size is a bit small, so ordering two servings might be a good idea. I also tried Sakado. While it has a strong aroma, it would be great for those who enjoy similar flavors.

When we are tired from shopping, we go to Toast Box for lim kopi and snacking. We like the latest ebi bread and the cake. In our 4 days here, we visited Toast Box Raffles 4 times.

My wife and I were here today for some local Nanyang Kopi/Teh and some sweet/savoury snacks. As usual, and as regular customers of Toast Box, my order of Kopi, Teh C, Honey Cake Slice, and Curry Puffs did not disappoint, but were comfortingly very good, especially after we had just returned from an overseas trip. Service at this Toast Box outlet was friendly and helpful. However, the dining ambience was not great, as the place was rather cramped and made worse by being crowded. That said, we will still come back to this outlet in the future to get our local Nanyang cuisine fix.

Visited July 2025. Good place for breakfast. The Mee Siam was so nice and hot. It is slightly cheaper than other cafes around. The variety of the foods is widespread; they even have Thai Boat Noodles. The coffee tastes ok. Will be back.

This staff member is the whole reason for the 5-star review. I sat facing the counter, eating my breakfast, and watched him patiently speak to customers from different walks of life and parts of the world, code-switching and patiently serving with no attitude whatsoever. This was despite an ever-growing queue, which he moved along efficiently and pleasantly. I hope Toast Box sees this and rewards this guy for his hard work.
